Divi Beach Resort

Saturday Oct 9th

Flew Apple Charter from Pittsburgh. Direct flight departed at 6 am and arrived in Aruba 10:10 am. Airport not real busy moved through everything very quickly. Took the DePalm Bus to the Divi, arrived at 11:10 am. Checked- in very quickly, only one of our rooms were ready, so we had all of our luggage delivered there and quickly changed & headed for the beach. The beach at the Divi is totally awesome. That is one of the reasons we continue to return there. Most of the staff is the same as I had remembered. Spent the rest of the day on the beach and ate at the Red Parrot that evening. The food was good, atmosphere wonderful and wait staff great as always. Sat out at the beach bar the rest of the evening, enjoying the sound of the ocean and listening to the DJ.

Sunday Oct 10th

Early wake-up and out to the beach. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet (anything you could possibly want). Checked everything out at the Divi and Tam. Both places have made some upgrades since the last time we were there. Rooms are very clean and the staff is great. Spent the day just getting some much needed R&R and enjoying the atmosphere! Had dinner at the Paparazzi, very enjoyable!

Monday Oct 10th

The men went golfing at Tierra Del Sol while us ladies had massages, also at Tierra Del Sol. They were absolutely wonderful…so relaxing! After our massages we headed downtown to check out the shopping. Returned to the Divi around 1 PM and met up with the guys. They really enjoyed golfing at Tierra Del Sol (mostly the awesome view). Ordered a Pizza at the snack bar (excellent) and went to the beach for awhile. Then it was time to go and get ready to attend our first BB Party (hosted by Teri, many thanks Teri). We all met at Moomba’s – did the intros, had a few drinks and boarded the Jolly Pirates for the sunset cruise. Met a lot of great people, the crew was very entertaining. After the sail we had dinner at Moomba’s, food and entertainment was excellent! Met some more BB’ers that were not on the Jolly Pirates and had a great time! Also got to meet Carla, from the JP, she is super friendly and we really enjoyed talking with her!

Tuesday Oct 12th

Out on the beach at 7 am, relaxed the day away! Had the Kookoo Kunuku BB Party that evening. A lot of the same people attended this BB party and also met a few more wonderful people! Had a BLAST!! The crew on the bus were the Best (Hella, Lilly & Wanda)!!!! This trip is definitely a must do!!!! Did a sunset toast and went to Moomba’s for a drink. Had a nice surprise and got to meet Marcus & Cindy who I believe are the owners of the KK Bus. After Moomba’s off to the Ambassadors House for dinner. After dinner off to the rest of the bars. Had a really terrific time!!!!

Wednesday Oct 13th

Early wake-up for a day at the beach again. That evening spent some time in the Casino’s. Nephew had some really good luck at Alhambra!!!

Thursday Oct 14th

Went on half day Deep Sea Fishing Trip with Kenny’s Toy. Captain and mate were just great! Caught barracuda, wahoo, tuna and hubby caught a sailfish that was about 5 ft long and awesome looking. It actually jumped out of the water while he was reeling it in. I didn’t get a picture as it was jumping out of the water (it happened so fast) and when they were trying to pull it up onto the boat the fish starting pulling and went underneath the boat causing the line to snap. So…..Needless to say I never got a good picture of the fish. The first mate told us that they do not keep the sailfish anyway, we would have just got to take a picture as they were pulling it up and they would have thrown it back into the ocean. I don’t know if he just told us this so we wouldn’t feel so bad????? But, another trip…..Another fish! After we docked we walked around the shops for awhile then went to Carlo’s & Charlies’s. Food was excellent and the entertainment great as always. Spent the rest of the evening at the casino and the beach bar.

Friday Oct 15th

Early wake-up, spent the day at the beach....are last full day! Spent the evening once again at the beach bar and nephew did some casino hopping.

Saturday Oct 16th

Had to be in the lobby at 8 am and off to the airport. Flight scheduled to leave at 11:10. We took off a little late but made it back to Pittsburgh around 3:30 PM

We are all ready planning our trip for next year...WE MISS ARUBA ALREADY!
