Just wanted to share our opinion of the Amsterdam Manor from our recent stay 4/30-5/6/11. This was our second stay there. For many years we had stayed at the "Suites" downtown. The Manor is absolutely more than they advertise. The staff is dedicated and helpful, the resort and rooms were/are clean and comfortable and the food was outstanding!
What more can you expect from Aruba---Friendly people, great food and sun! We'll be back!
We enjoyed it so much last november we are going back. Cant wait. Perfect place without the intensity of the high rises.
We stayed 2 weeks and wanted a choice of preparing some ouf our own meals. Amsterdam Mannor was a perfect place. We enjoyed the European feeling of the architecture so close to a beautiful beach, with beautiful sun sets. Easy access to shops and supermarkets.Clean rooms and friendly staff made our stay enjoyable.
We want to thank the office staff for taking such good care of us the day we were ill. We will recommend AM to our friends and definitely come back.
It was GREAT!!! good service, very good barkeeper, DONALD,you are the best!
Very nice place to be! its like paradise!
Amsterdam manor is a perfect location for relaxation. It is a beautiful hotel and it's across the street from a great beach. We had our own veranda on the second floor overlooking the beach. The two bedroom was just the right amount of space for 2 couples. If you are looking to be apart of the "nightlife", this is not the place for you. I would suggest renting a car to get to the supermarket or fining dining. The breakfast is a nice assortment of breads, cheeses and meats. The staff were pleasant and accommodating. When we go back, we will stay here again!
Definietly not a five or four star hotel. This is a expensive 3+ star hotel. I have stayed in better hotels around Europe/North America/Asia which have been rated as a 3 star. And accomodation in those have costed 1/3 of the price of this one.
Feedback of all the negative (and some positive) details we confronted during our stay on August 08- September/08 given straight to the management and to some of the staff.
As soon as we arrived we knew we made the right choice. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating and the atmosphere is quaint and quiet, perfect for relaxing beach vacation. We were surprised as to how exceptional the food at mangos and passions was (you have to dine at passions during sunset...awesome, just make reservations before you get there), if you are not looking to get around the island and just want good food you do not have to leave the confines of AM. People have made some fuss about having to cross the street to get to the beach but it is a sleepy beachtown and to us AM is right on the beach. If you want to save some money recommend doing some grocery shopping for certain things (water, alcohol etc) at any of the very close markets as AM shop is a little pricy. We will absolutely be going back and can't wait.
We stayed at the AM from June 26 til 9th of Juli, and we never had such a nice holiday. The AM is Superb, really! Nice staff, good food, the place is clean and the beach is sooo wonderful. We return to the AM this year in September and we will stay for two weeks.
I am looking forward to see all those nice people back!!

We have a timeshare at the marriott in Aruba but wanted to stay at Eagle Beach for this visit. We really chose the right hotel.
Location - Great! Right across the street from Eagle Beach and 5 - 10 minitues away from everywhere that matters by bus. We saved a lot of money & the ecology not renting a car and using the bus for the first time.
Beach - Eagle Beach is the best beach in Aruba and the hotel has thatch umbrellas, lounge chairs, an on-beach bar and serves food. No need for beach shoes! The sand is rock-free and perfect.
Service - Was great except for 1 person that seemed mad because she had to work at the beach bar on a given day. She had blondish hair. Other than that, everyone went out of their way on the service side.
We would gladly stay here again!
We just got back from Aruba and stayed at the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort. This was our second time there. We loved it the first time and even more this time. The resort is so intimate, has great charm, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. This resort is located steps away from Eagle Beach and also has a bar and restaurant on the beach for your convenience. I have not stayed at any other resort in Aruba but have visited a few. I must say that Amsterdam Manor Beach Resorts is the best one there. It has a charming quaint dutch Caribbean feel/look but also very modern and all the rooms are newly remodeled. I can't boast enough about this place. I think about it all the time and am booking our next trip for November. We can't wait!!!!
In view of the number of other reviews of AMBR, most overwhelmingly positive, this will be short. After 3 straight years here, we are firmly of the notion that there is not a better, more reasonably priced nor more attractive hotel in Aruba than Amsterdam Manor, nor a more perfect island venue than Aruba. The grounds and buildings are gorgeous, the staff is friendly, responsive and helpful, and their part of Eagle Beach is the best to be found. Once a week, a manager's cocktail party is held at the outdoor bar, and guests can mingle and chat with the owner/managers of AMBR, who are truly friendly and gracious people. This is the best kept secret in the Caribbean.
This was our 16th trip to Aruba from September 8-22, 2007.
We’ve stayed at many different resorts over the years in Aruba but have finally found “our home” at Amsterdam Manor.
It's a small resort located on Eagle Beach. One of the main reasons for choosing it was because it’s small, more personal, and the beach is never crowded (can always get chairs and palapas at any time of day.)
Check in was a breeze since I pre-registered on Amsterdam Manor’s website. I booked a 2 bedroom, 2 bath which my husband and I shared with two friends.
They have just finished a major renovation of all of their rooms: new tiling and granite counter tops in the kitchens and bathrooms, new kitchen appliances and dishes, flat screen TV’s and cordless phones in each room, and new modern, sleek looking furniture. Everything was so comfortable!
Things that we like:
Two restaurants – Mango’s and Passions on the beach.
Weekly BBQ night and show every Tuesday.
Free movies on the beach for guests every Wed. night.
Beach bar with lunch service and daily happy hour.
Pool bar with 2 happy hours.
Room service from Mango’s.
Beach towels available at any time of day.
Free internet service for guests and WiFi.
Full kitchens or kitchenettes which includes frig, stove, all utensils, glasses, dishes, toaster, coffee maker, blender.
Nice quiet pool area with cushions on the lounge chairs.
New, modern bathrooms
Flat screen TV's
Never crowded or noisy - very relaxing atmosphere
Great staff!!!
Spent many wonderful days on the beach – water was clear and warm. Some days we brought our drinks/lunch to the beach and other days we just ordered from the beach bar because it was just too easy to have drinks and food brought to your palapa (and that’s what a vacation is all about!) We had everything from salads to French onion soup to pizzas delivered to our chairs! The service is wonderful at their beach bar (Diego and Diana are the best!)
The water at Eagle Beach was great – small, gentle waves, warm water and a nice, sandy bottom. The water was so clear on some days that you could be standing up to your neck in the water and still see your feet.
It’s always such a nice feeling to be welcomed back to Amsterdam Manor year after year and be treated like family. Everyone always seems so happy to see you - the entire staff is nothing less than stellar! We will definitely be back again next year for trip #17 in 2008.
one of the best places we have been: personel is perfect, polite; splendid appartment (and very clean)most beautiful beach ever seen, good beachbeds and good drinks; mango's restaurant: just one word: perfect!!!
Another trip to Aruba. It was my wife?s and mines 3 trip to Aruba. The first 2 times we stayed at the Renaissance. This time we wanted to try something different, we wanted to get away from the center, we wanted to stay at a more quite place and oh men did we found it. We stayed at the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort. From the moment we checked in till the said moment when we had to leave this trip was all we hoped for and more. It all started (of course) with the check-in. The employees at the front desk where so nice, we were welcomed with a smile and we did not see the smile go away in the 10days that we stayed there. After the check-in we were brought to our room. Our room was above of the reception. It was a 2 bedroom suite. The room had everything you could imagine, from a full kitchen to an almost Olympic size Jacuzzi. After we unpacked out bags we walked around the hotel for a little bit. The Dutch with a touch of the Caribbean style of the hotel was really nice. The first night we ate at the Mango?s restaurant. My wife was not that hungry but I was. We both found something we liked on the menu. We thought that only the employees at the front desk were nice, the people working at the restaurant were as nice. After the dinner we went back to our room. My feet where not even of the ground and I was asleep already. We woke up the next day just in time to get breakfast. At the restaurant we had the option to choose between 2 types of breakfast: American and Continental.
During our 10 days we met a lot of nice people. We found out that all employees in the hotel where all so friendly, they all walked around with a smile all day long. The person we talked to the most was Jorge the bartender. You could really see that he liked his job. He was always talking to all the guests and always serving our drinks with a smile. Jorge is the best on earth when you need a Caribbean cocktail. Whoa men what a professional.
Before we came to the Amsterdam Manor we where a little afraid, because we read some bad reviews on some of the bulletin boards about the beach being behind a dangerous road and more things like that. I think the people who wrote this must have stayed at a different hotel and mixed the names up. The ??dangerous?? road people talked about was a very quite 2 lane road with a crossing right in front of the hotel. We could be literally be at the beach drinking a cocktail at the beach bar or relax on the free beds within minutes.
On of the best amenities they had at the Amsterdam Manor was their free 24/7 internet service. They had 2 computers by the front desk, and you could get wireless all over the premises. Sitting by the pool or on the beach with you laptop emailing makes it really nice.
We enjoyed our vacation more than ever. We would especially like to thank the staff and most importantally Sasha (front desk) and the entire Crew at Mangos. They went out of their way to make our stay the best. We arrived late on Friday and due to flight delays etc.. we were not able to eat all day, when we arrived at the Amsterdam Manor everything was closed however, Sasha called over to Mangos the chef had already left but there happend to be waitstaff still there and they cooked the best cheeseburgers in the world for us and treated us like royalty. The entire time we were there they were wonderful and Sasha was extremly helpful. We look forward to returning to the Amsterdam Manor and we hope to be bringing with us our entire family. Thanks again for the best vacation ever.
Wonderful hotel, wonderful staff, wonderful location!
Small enough to be personal, yet big enough to offer great ammenities.
Great Happy Hours at the beach bar and at the pool bar! Filo the bartender is awesome! Takes VERY good care of you!! = )
Everyone goes out of their way at the AMBR to make you feel comfortable and at home!
The rooms are very spacious and clean, as is the whole resort.
I have found my home away from home.
= )
Wonderful Staff!!!!!!!!!!! Rooms very clean and roomy for a standard studio. Nice small but efficient kitchen. Not a problem the beach being across the street maybe 20 to 30 feet, easily accessible. Close to town and the high-rise district. But High-rise area far to busy and congested with cars and people for us.
Loved the quiet, quaint and wonderful atmosphere of the Manor, we will definitely be back. Next time though, hopefully longer than 2 weeks.
I could easily spend the winter there NO PROBLEM.
Thank you to everyone at the Manor for making our first trip to Aruba very memorable. Hi to all the staff, JOB WELL DONE!
My wife and I have just returned to the US after spending two weeks at the
Amsterdam Manor. This is our sixth trip to Aruba and I assure you, I will
never stay anyplace except at the AM again!!
The one bedroom suite was wonderful, huge amount of room for two people (as
my wife gets up much earlier than I, worked great!!). We also loved the
privacy (including the great recessed "patio" area where we could drink
coffee and wake up), the friendly staff, the excellent service, and the
uncrowded pool and beach areas. Having stayed at several different other hotels on our previous trips,
let me assure you that not having to get up at 6:30 am to
reserve pool or beach chairs, and not having to hear someone screaming
through a bullhorn to "play volleyball!" was just a delightful and relaxing
experience.
You guys are just great and we are telling our travel agent and other
Arubaphiles that the Amsterdam Manor is absolutely the best!!
Fondest regards,

After traveling to Aruba for 23 years, I am glad I finally tried the Amsterdam Manor!!
The room was HUGE! There was a living room, dining area, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. I had a front door - to the pool - and a backdoor - to the rental car - SOOOOO convenient!! The room was well maintained and well stocked with amenities.
The staff at the Amsterdam Manor was great!! Great Happy Hour!! Filo, the bartender at the pool bar, is wonderful! The beach bar also has a happy hour - great place to watch the sun set!
The beach is beautiful and not crowded - even when the hotel was full! The pool wasn't crowded either. Quiet and peaceful!!
The whole resort is quaint and charming - you feel like you're in Holland!!
We will be staying here again this year - our new 'home away from home'!!!
This is a great place to stay in Aruba! I have stayed at this hotel 4 times and every stay has been excellent! It is in a great location, across from a beautiful, quiet stretch of beach. The hotel is just the right size so you can get that personal touch! The rooms are nicely appointed and the place is spotless! The food is very good in the small restaraunt, very well priced compared to other places on the island and very tasty! Try the fish sandwich for lunch! If you want a nice relaxing place to stay along with good food and service, in a great location, stay at the Manor!
Friendly staff , nice appartments, good restaurant, good beach and poolbar. Beach behind your door.
No negative details!!
AMBR. Go on!
Amsterdam Manor is a small friendly hotel. The staff go out of the way to make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them. The room we had was on the lower level and although small it had a huge bathroom with jacuzzi bath. The room has a small cooking area with a fridge. I would not recommend the on site shop has it is very small and offers very little, much better to take the local bus to the supermarket. Buses are very frequent and cost one dollar.Itis also ok to hop into the many mini buses that travel into Orangestad. The hotel has a small pool but as you are located on the finest of beaches Eagle beach, out of your hotel room across the road and within seconds you are on beautiful soft white sand. the hotel cocktail hour is not to be missed with wonderful specials each day and acocktail party once a week. Several times we ate in the restraunt and we were pleased with the quality and cost of the meals
I would certaily recommened Amsterdam Manor if you are looking for a quiet restful holiday, away from the main drag of the high rise hotel area.
This was our 10th trip to Aruba and we've tried various hotels on the island over the years but I think we've finally found "our home".
This is much better than staying at a hotel in the crowded high-rise area. Beach was never crowded and everyone remembered your name by the end of the first day.
Rooms were fantastic. Had an oceanfront studio which included a king size bed, kitchenette (microwave, frig, coffee maker, toaster, blender, dishes, etc.), and a HUGE bathroom with double pedestal sinks and a large jacuzzi tub that was large enough for two. My friends had connecting rooms (one bedroom and a studio) on the first floor that was just steps from the pool and the pool bar. The one bedroom had a kitchen, large wooden dining room table and buffet, and a living room area with a sofa, 2 chairs and a TV. It also had a front and back door ? front door to the pool and back door to the car (couldn?t get any easier!) Also loved the fact that you didn?t have to mess with towel cards or returning your towels at a certain time every day ? they were always available at the front desk. Normally, I don?t use the Internet much while on vacation but since they offered it for free I used it almost every day. They also had a brand new beach bar ? happy hour at 5pm every day and you could also order lunch from the bar so you didn?t need to walk back to the restaurant. Their restaurant (Mango?s) is a great place for dinner and you?re missing out on some great dining (courtesy of Chef Marc) if you don?t have this place on your restaurant list. The pool bar has 2 happy hours - one at 5pm and one at 9pm (love the 9pm one - perfect for after dinner drinks!)
We had the friendliest and best service at this resort - from the bartenders to the staff at the front desk. A special thanks to the staff at Amsterdam Manor for making us feel so welcome there!
