The concept surrounding the Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival is inspired by the North Sea Jazz Festival, a creation of Paul Acket, hich takes place in the Netherlands every summer. The well known Aruba Jazz & Latin Music festival wich ook place from 1986 till 2001 could be seen as a predecessor of the new Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival. The Aruba Jazz & Latin Music Festivalwas an enourmous success, for the inhabitants and visitors of Aruba alike and a similar festival was needed on the Island Aruba.
Ingredients of this new game are fun, sun and playing tennis on the beach. The net is almost 6 ft. high and the court is volleyball-sized. Open for tennis fans.
Children receive gifts on the birthday of "Sinterklaas" (Saint Nicolas), a man dressed in bishop’s robes and accompanied by his "Zwarte Pieten" (helpers). A couple of weeks before his birthday he will arrive on Aruba by boat. His arrival by boat at Paardenbaai Harbor in Oranjestad is celebrated with great fanfare. On the days before his birthday but after his arrival, children leave out shoes and treats for Sinterklaas' white horse in anticipation of Sinterklaas' nighttime arrival.
Aruba’s biggest party of the year is a month-long celebration consisting of festive "jump-ups" (street parties),
spectacular parades and creative contests. Music and flamboyant costumes play a central role in events
ranging from the Queen elections to the Grand Parades which wind their way down the streets of San Nicolas
and Oranjestad to the delight of thousands of spectators.
The Grand Parade in Oranjestad will take place on begin March 2014.

King's Day 2014 is the day when the first King's Day will be celebrated on Aruba, namely April 26, 2014. Although states that King's will fall on April 27, the birthday of King Willem-Alexander, is because that date in 2014 falls on a Sunday, the celebration moved to the Saturday before the 26th.
