As difficult as it is — (And I cannot imagine a single human being that I know, who doesn’t find this insanity difficult) — try to find the positive. Even if it is one tiny little positive, it will still have more power than all of the negative combined. ~Donnie Wahlberg _________________

Being Peace
If we are peaceful,
If we are happy,
We can smile and blossom like a flower.
And everyone in our family,
Our entire society,
Will benefit
From our peace.
- Thich Nhat Hanh (born 1926, age 93). It was listed under common Buddhist prayer.
Thích Nhất Hạnh is a Vietnamese Thiền Buddhist monk and peace activist, founder of the Plum Village Tradition. _________________ Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be - Grandma Moses (1860 - 1961) |

We come from a Christian/Catholic tradition, but I am learning to explore and understand a little about other religious traditions.
So here's another one from the Buddhist tradition:
May I be a guard for those who need protection,
A guide for those on the path,
A boat, a raft, a bridge for those who wish to cross the flood.
May I be a lamp in the darkness,
A resting place for the weary,
A healing medicine for all who are sick
A vase of plenty, a tree of miracles.
And for the boundless multitudes of living beings
May I bring sustenance and awakening,
Enduring like the earth and sky
Until all beings are freed from sorrow
And all are awakened.
- Shantideva (an 8th Century Buddhist monk) _________________ Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be - Grandma Moses (1860 - 1961) |
