“By being grateful, appreciating all we have instead of focusing on what is lacking, we allow more of the same to flow toward us.”

“Somehow we’ve come to equate success with not needing anyone. Many of us are willing to extend a helping hand, but we’re very reluctant to reach out for help when we need it ourselves. It’s as if we’ve divided the world into “those who offer help” and “those who need help.” The truth is that we are both.”

The wind blew — not up the road or down it, though that’s bad enough, but sheer across it, sending the rain slanting down like the lines they used to rule in the copybooks at school. ~Charles Dickens _________________

What we’re really talking about is a wonderful day set aside on the fourth Thursday of November when no one diets. I mean, why else would they call it Thanksgiving? ~Erma Bombeck _________________

We each have a choice in any setting to step back and let go of the mind-set of scarcity. Once we let go of scarcity, we discover the surprising truth of sufficiency. By sufficiency, I don’t mean a quantity of anything. . . . Sufficiency isn’t an amount at all. It is an experience, a context we generate, a declaration, a knowing that there is enough and that we are enough. . . .
When we live in the context of sufficiency, we find a natural freedom and integrity. We engage in life from a sense of our own wholeness rather than a desperate longing to be complete.
--- excerpted for a morning meditation titled "The Gift of Sufficiency", author Lynne Twist. _________________ Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be - Grandma Moses (1860 - 1961) |

In a nostalgic moment, I looked back at the beginning pages.
I found my first post at around page 3, from 2007.
Of course, Teri (the founder) was there.
And there was @Juan@, auntie_mame, Coen, Orrin and Anonymous.

This is the only time we have
There are no more lives left
Take the good and take the bad
This is the only time we have
This is the only time we have
This universe is a grain of sand
Take the good and take the bad
This is the only time we have
I know it's obvious but I've chosen to believe it
I know it's simple but this choice it is for good
Good, Good, Goooooood
This is the only time we have
--- lyrics by Ryan Miller

Every day, families offer comfort and support to one another with enduring and unconditional love and they contribute to their communities and our country. During National Family Week, we uplift and honor the families that give so much to forge a brighter future for themselves and for America... As we reminisce on warm memories and share in the joy and love family can provide, let us also pledge to lift up our loved ones and recommit to the family bonds that have strengthened the fabric of our Nation. ~Barack Obama _________________

“There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.”
― Soren Kierkegaard (1813 - 1855)
Søren Aabye Kierkegaard was a Danish philosopher, theologian, poet, social critic and religious author who is widely considered to be the first existentialist philosopher.
