Every year the company I work for does an incentive trip. This year we are going to the Big Island of Hawaii (March 1st can't wait!). I found out the trip we earn for 2014 and will travel in March 2015 is to ARUBA!!!! Hopefully I will earn this FREE trip! The company knows that I am a seasoned traveler to Aruba so they have asked me lots of questions. We will be staying at the Hyatt, which will be interesting. We have always stayed at Manchebo, never on Palm Beach. We are hoping to be in Aruba over Thanksgiving this year so if we are I will have to make it a point to visit the Hyatt and check it out.
Wish me luck on earning the trip! _________________

Good morning Sasha, and everyone else;
Congratulations on earning the trip to the Big Island. You'll have loads to see and do when you're there. Don't miss the volcanoes.
Have fun and good luck working towards the trip to Aruba.
When you 're in Aruba this coming November, hopefully the road construction will be finished and you can get to Amadeus this time.
No decision for us yet regarding Aruba, but if we do go, it would likely be during the second week of October to coincide with our anniversary and Canadian Thanksgiving.
Have a super weekend.

I am new to the forum and this is my first post.
My family has stayed at the Hyatt for the last 10 years. I have 4 kids and they always love going back to Aruba each year. We stay for two weeks each year so my kids are spoiled.
I am a Hyatt Diamond member so I have access to the Regency floor. It is a great resort with several pools, water slide and swim up bar. The grounds are landscaped exceptionally.
The hotel and rooms were refurbished several years ago. One of the issues that I have is with the bathrooms. There is glass on one of the walls that face the beds and if you use the bathroom at night, the light shines into the room. They have tried to frost the glass but it still is a issue in my opinion. All the employees are great and most go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Everyone knows your name year after year which makes us feel like family.
Last summer, my wife and I renewed our vows (25 years) at the Hyatt on Palm Beach which was fantastic. We had dinner afterwards under the big palapa. My in laws and parents were also with us so it made it that much more enjoyable to share the renewal with them and my children.
My wife and I are going back to the Hyatt later this month this time without the kids.
The only other issue at the Hyatt is reserving a palapa on the beach. You have to get up quite early to get in line to reserve a hut that is near the water. After several days of doing this, I was exhausted. Now I pay $35 per day to reserve my hut in advance this way I am not getting up quite as early.
I am sure you will have a great time at the Hyatt and I hope you win your trip. |

Hi...and welcome!!
We have friends who stay at the Hyatt and they have said the exact same thing about the "wall" in the rooms as far as the bathroom light. They said it looks really nice in the daytime but doesn't work at night without waking the other person up. Other than that, they love the place.
Congrats on 25 years! _________________ ~Amy~®

Thanks for the information about the Hyatt, especially the hut situation. I wondered what it would be like there at their beach. That's one of the reasons we LOVE Manchebo...you can go out anytime of day and get a hut! And they are all spaced nicely apart and all have a great view. Maybe we will only hit the beach at the Hyatt one or two days and spend the rest of the time doing other things. The pools does look nice but I am more of a beach person.
This is our first month to earn the trip. I need to earn 40,000 points. This month I earned 3200 so I am on my way! _________________
