Carol, Sasha, Amy and anybody else,

Just 5 more sleeps for us. On Friday, we fly to Toronto, overnight there then catch our Air Canada flight to Aruba on Saturday morning. We get into AUA around 5:00pm. We're at Sunset Beach Studios in Malmok, across the street from the wreck.

We are so looking forward to this.

Carol, Sasha; we'll see you at the bb party on Monday, Oct.14th.

It's still not too late Amy.

Just so that you know, we packed me up this afternoon. I could leave for the airport right now!

Hi Carol,

Have a safe flight and absolutely we'll see you guys there a week today.

You'll have a couple of days headstart on us, so you'll be able to clue Donna in on any new stores you might find.

Then there's the trolley. I'm not sure what my reaction to it is going to be.

None of that really matters, I'm just looking forward to being there after two years away, and to meeting you and Sasha.

Getting excited!!! We fly out at 7am on Friday and will be in Aruba by that afternoon! Can't wait to meet you Carol and Glenn...what time does the party start?

We're at Manchebo for our 10th year. Looking forward to some of the new improvements they've made over this last year.

Just got our email from Hans to fill out our paperwork for the rental car.

Only bummer is I checked our flights and they have moved our seats all around for all of our flights. My husband and I are no longer sitting together on any flight! I am so hopeful that someone will be willing to switch with us. The planes are all FULL so there was nowhere else for us to move. I guess it's not the end of the world if we can't but I hope it works out.

Sasha, keep checking your seats online, especially 24 hours prior to your flight. Not sure which airline you're on but that's when Delta bumps up their Medallion passengers to first class and seats will become available in coach. Some Medallion members get bumped up 3 days prior and some 24 hours prior so it's always best to keep checking as much as you can.

The bulletin board party starts at 5pm on Monday. Happy hour (2 for 1 on all drinks) is from 5-6pm. Cool

We are on Delta!

I have a window and my husband has the middle so I am hoping that wherever he is sitting, the person in the window seat obviously can't be sitting with someone they know so maybe they will be willing to swap window for window.

I'll try to check 24 hours ahead though, thanks!

Also check 3 days prior, too - and check as close to your departure time as possible because they get bumped up exactly at the 24 hour mark. I do this for my husband and myself (when we don't get bumped up) for business trips all the time. Alot of time we're booking late (2 weeks out) for a business trip and even though we get our choice of seats (economy comfort and priority) sometimes they're booked already. So at 3 days out and 24 hours out, I start checking when the Medallion members who are higher than us start getting bumped up and the good seats in coach or economy comfort start opening up. (This is on Delta - we use them for about 99% of our bookings.)

UPDATE on the Oct. 14th BB Party:

Denise (a fellow Aruba traveler) will be at the bulletin board party on Monday, Oct. 14th and will be accepting donations for Arf-Aruba which is a non-profit organization for animals. The first 20 people who donate an item from their Wish List (see link below) or cash will receive a free drink ticket (compliments of Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort) to be used at the beach bar. Cool

Sasha - I have been so long, I don't mind an occasional flight not next to my husband, who snores soundly for 4 hours!

Denise I just printed off the wish list and I'll see if we have any of these items at home we can bring. We are doggie parents to three babies, all adopted. Can't wait to meet you and hear more about Arf-Aruba!

We're happy to make one trip to Aruba after almost 11 years retired.
Y'all still make me wish it could be more.
Been a couple years since we made it to a BB gathering.
Maybe September 2014! We live and hope.
