We will be in Aruba arriving on Saturday June 15 and leaving on Tuesday June 25. Please contact me if you are interested in some tennis during that time period. We will staying at Casa del Mar, near Alhambra Casino, but I will be renting a car and can play in the Palm Beach area if you prefer. Have a great vacation.

I've always admired those who play tennis in Aruba.

Playing in the wind there really forces you to focus on fundamentals, keep your eye on the ball and footwork. When I get back to (you guessed it) south Florida the game comes easier to me. Dehydration is a concern, not only on the courts but just walking around. We bring a softsided cooler and keep bottles of water with us wherever we go down there. We are constantly refilling them. We usually play very early (7am) and walk the beach afterward. I avoid the sun between 11AM and 2PM and usually venture back out to the pool or beach later in the day. For golf I prefer to play later in the afternoon. You can usually zip around Divi (9 holes) in less than 90 minutes and they offer unlimited golf after 4PM, so I usually get in 18. Tierra del Sol take a little longer. Just think in less than a week I will be there.

I've played tennis in the past, but now it is too much stress on my knees and ankles. However, if you were looking for a golf partner, I would be in. Very Happy

Unfortunately, I will not be there until Oct.

I feel it more when I play on hard courts like they have in Aruba. I don't know if you have access to clay (har-tru) courts where you live but it makes a world of difference. Just a lot less impact, that, 2 pair of socks, and 1 aleve before I go out and I am functional the remainder of the day and ready to get back at it the next day.

Have fun hitting the golf ball in that wind, it can easily be 3 or 4 clubs different depending on direction. My ball flight tends to be on the low side, so sometimes I can get away with a low "wind cheater". Even putting is impacted. Nothing is faster than a down hill, down wind, down grain put.
