We ended up going to the new store twice while there 2 weeks ago. It had everything we needed (beer and snacks ). I love grocery stores and if I had been by myself I definitely would have spent more time checking out the choices!! The parking lot is a bit tight but we managed. _________________

Yes, it is so easy to walk to from LaCabana and the hotels in that area. BUT, don't walk it at night. You are walking through a narrow path of overgrown weeds and plants. It is not a "street" from the hotel.
It is a very, very nice supermarket. I still prefer Ling & Son, but I did not and would not go there unless I had a rental car.
Ling & Son's probably has more "American" goods, but the new Superfood has more than enough.
They have a great meat department, bakery, deli with an amazing selection of cheese's and I found the prices to be very good.
A small sample as I did not buy a lot -
Croissants 55 cents each (made fresh in the store)
Club rolls, pack of 6 for about two dollars
Quality sirloin to make burgers about five dollars a pound
2 liter coke, on sale for about $1.60 (with no freaking bottle deposit)
Even the milk and butter seemed to cost less than in past years. A worker at the store told me that they receive milk every Tuesday. |

I love Super Food because it has more Dutch products. We try to avoid Ling & Sons since it has the most American products that we can get at home. It's more fun to try something new. _________________ ~Amy~®
