To avoid late or lost luggage issues, we are thinking of two carry on suitcases. The issue regarding suntan lotion came up. I heard gels and liquids were not allowed.

Can we take several tubes of suntan lotion in our carry on bags?

Also any "must takes" which might not seem so obvious? (Money, Hat for bald guy, & Bathing suits are obvious).

Traveler Checks or Cash?

Tipping?

Found this List

Things to think about Taking to Aruba.

Blow up tubes( why rent, bring your own from Target 3.99)
clothes line- although the hotel has one of those lines in the tub, it doesn't hold 4 suits and they don't dry. We tie a line on our balcony
Coffee-can't live without my dunks brewing in the room to wake me up. I bring the filters, creamora and sugar too...
Telescopic fishing rod- gives my kids and nieces and nephews plenty of fun. The restaurant on the islands give them bait
Extension cord- yes, sounds stupid, but most rooms are plug deficient
Air Freshener- Bathrooms have no ventilation, and some rooms take on that damp smell. Small Yankee Candle. Matches of course.
Paper cups- yep, 3oz cups for the bathroom. Use them for pills, etc and not have to worry with the glass breaking etc. on the tile floor
Small Tupperware box- sandwich size to put snacks, cheese and crackers in
Cooler- portable size, fill up with ice at the machines and carry your drinks to the beach or poolside
Quarters- for the washing machine, at the airport for the luggage carts, vending machines..
Power strip due to the lack of outlets
Battery charger, cell phone charger, DVD player charger
Bounce dryer sheets, rub them on our bodies and it is good insect repellent and no sticky feel and yukky smell.
Box of gallon or large zip locks for snacks or for holding ice in my collapsible cooler,
Underwater Camera, it's cheaper to bring one than buy one there
Kleenex
Wet washcloth in a zip lock bag
ear plugs
Moisturizing eye drops
Breath mints
Small spray-on or splash-on cologne
Anti-bacterial, individually wrapped hand wipes
Makeup kit
Hairbrush
Colorful scarf
Tickets
Passport
Driver's license
Other ID
Reading glasses
Prescription medicine
Moisturizer for face
Hand lotion
Travel itinerary
Pertinent notes regarding hotels, rental car, etc.
Paperback book or magazine
Pen and paper
Jacket or change of top appropriate to destination weather
Socks
Evian mineral water spray
Toothbrush and mini-toothpaste
Chap-stick or lip gloss
Tampax or Pads
Beach Bag or Tote
Keys for luggage, car and house
Individually wrapped hand wipes or travel size hand sanitizer
Kleenex Moisturizing eye drops
Mp3 player and Noise cancelling headphones
Book or a couple of magazines
For easy organization inside the beach bag or tote, a cosmetic bag
Wallet with Money, Traveler's Checks, ATM Card & Credit Cards
Passport
Drivers License
Prescriptions for airport/plane
Tylenol/Motrin/antihistamine
Mp3 player and Noise cancelling headphones
Kindle/iPad
Ink Pen to Complete Immigration Form

Anything of a liquid nature (includes suntan lotion) that's in a carry-on bag must be in a container that is 3 oz. or less. Then all of those containers must all fit inside a quart size baggie which you need to pull out of your bag when going through U.S. security at U.S. airports.

Wow, that is some list. I do take my own coffee with me, and a collapseable cooler for the beach/pool. I also take a water wallet. This holds my card key, and a few bucks.

You could always buy the sunscreen once you get to Aruba. All the super makets sell the Aruba Aloe products.

Hi Dennis,

Basic rule for "what to pack" when going to Aruba.

Take half the clothes and twice the money you think you'll need, and you'll be okay.

Don't forget the mirrored wrap-around sunglasses; Aruba's beaches being what they are.

That is my husband's philosophy as well and I try to follow it. Wink

We find we take less each trip....we find that a lot of the clothes we take come back unworn. I have even cut down on the shoes I take-- for a shoe-a-holic like me that is a miracle!!

What about Water Shoes? We were told good places to snorkel require water shoes so you don't cut your feet.

Have never needed them in Aruba. The beaches for swimming have a nice sandy bottom and when I snorkel I always wear flippers. I guess if you don't use flippers you might want to use them though.

And when you walk out of the airport you will be hit with warm windy air! Smile
