Had to go a little later this year (we usually go in April) due to hubby's work schedule but...just booked our flights today for May 7-17.
Hoping to take a side trip this year, too, over to Curacao for a day. _________________ ~Amy~®

Hi Amy,
Yeah, your dates for this trip do seem a bit later than usual. Damn work schedules! They're always getting in the way of what's important.
Back in the late 1980's and mid-90s (1986, 1987 & again in 1994), we actually went to Curacao for stay-put vacations, a week each time. We thoroughly enjoyed it. I still prefer Aruba, but we've been contemplating going back to Curacao.
A couple of things Amy, don't compare the beaches in CUR with those in AUA. In CUR are, where they exist at all, they are mostly barren and rocky. Any sand looks like it was barged over from Aruba. We never drove in CUR. Parking in Willemstad is way, way worse than in Oranjestad, if you can believe it.
Anyway, if you do go over to CUR, let me know what you think.
BTW, is this the trip that Stacey joins you on, or is that in Sept?
More later Amy,
Have fun!

Hi Glenn!
We're just going to Curacao to sightsee and do something different. I don't think we're planning on alot (if any) beach time there. It'll be fun to drive around and see the island, the beaches, and the sights.
Stacy usually joins us in Sept. But this year we're all thinking about skipping Sept. and going to Aruba for New Years Eve. We'll see though.... _________________ ~Amy~®

Carolina - I plan on pulling out the luggage this Sunday - and start the process of getting organized since I'll still have 4 work days to get through next week yet. I'm so looking forward to relaxing....and looking forward to a few Brights, too! _________________ ~Amy~®

Amy: I totally understand getting organized ahead of time. When we get back from our trip, my kids will only have 4 days of school left....So I am working on planning the end of year party, I am room mom....collecting $ for teacher gifts, blah, blah, all that stuff. My son plays semi-travel soccer, have to figure out what needs to be done while gone, 3 practices and a game to get him to, working on directions to Dr's, emergency room, schools, etc for my parents, so they have ALL the info they could possibly need while watching my kids. I feel like packing for me will be a last minute thing....I have SOOO much other $%*@ to take care of before I can go. I knew this would be a bad school-time of year to go, but my husband was insistent that I wake up on my birthday in Aruba....So we will work out all the little details and I will then be able to relax! I know if I have every possible scenario covered, I will be able to chill out. If I don't, Murphy's law will take over. So I will sweat the next 12 days then complete and total relaxation!
Can't wait!!!!! I know you are in single digits now!!!! Good luck packing, I know it will help you get through those last few days of work, tying up loose ends, knowing all your vacation packing is done. All the best to you and see you soon. C _________________ Carolina

Hi Amy,
I darned near forgot to wish you all the best on your holiday in Aruba. What kind of a friend would I be if I had forgotten?
I'm sure the fridge will have a few Brights in it when you arrive at AM. Soak up the sun, swim, eat, drink, shop, play and most of all, have fun!!
Let us know if you try Milano's. I would love for you and your husband to join Donna and I at Papillon for dinner. Maybe, someday.
Have a safe flight, have fun and we'll be talking again in three weeks.

Thanks, Glenn!
We are definitely planning on trying Milano's so I'll let you know what we thought when we get back (and when you get back from Maui.)
Amsterdam Manor is always so good to us....they always have a bucket of Brights on ice in the room when we arrive. They taste SO GOOD after a long day of travel. _________________ ~Amy~®
