|
|
We arrived in Aruba 2 weeks ago to find 9 puppies just born by our house. They are in good health & of course adorable. We would like to find good homes for them before we leave in Feb.
I have pictures of the mother and 2 of the puppies. We figure the dad"s" are about 6 " taller than the mother.
There are 5 brown puppies, & 4 black puppies. We have found a home for 2 of the male puppies.
We had named the mother "Sweetie Pie" last year, because she is. We would also like to find a home for her.

They are so sweet... I am sure that someone will love them. Hang out by the high rise hotel area with them and someone will take one home as a souviner... I have a friend that adopted a dog & cat while on a trip to Mexico. They flew them home at NO charge... I guess if you find an animal lover at the airport you might get lucky! That was a few years ago too so that may not work now...
Anyway...Good luck and give them a hug from me!

The mother breaks my heart. She looks just like a stray my best friend picked up years ago. She was such a sweet dog.

I would LOVE to take one...but I already have three at home. We did almost lose one last week though. She developed anemia and was pretty close to death but after a blood transfusion and some powerful meds she's back on the mend. It was a long week though. Here's how she looked last night...

Unfortunately the vet can't give us an answer as to how she got this. Some dogs just can get it. She can also still get it again so we have to watch her carefully. I am just so grateful she made it. She's actually our baby at about 6 or 7 (we adopted her so we don't really know how old she is). Our other two are 13 and 9.

I know there are tons of reasons why they get it, I just wondered if your Vet figured out why she got it.....
She looks like such a sweetie, for sure! Give her lots of hugs from me!

The puppies and the mother are adorable. I think it's great that you are trying to find a home for them!
Sasha, also glad to hear that your dog recovered well from the transfusion. I am a veterinary nurse and someone else asked about the causes of anemia. They do run the gammut, but here are a few:
gastrointestinal parasites, blood parasites, coagulation disorders, lesions in the urinary tract or intestines, nutritional disorders and many more!
Anemias are classified a few different ways - regenerative and nonregenerative and acute or chronic. Careful monitoring of activity level, signs of weakness, elevated respiratory rate or difficulty breathing and the color of the gums can be extremely important in helping to determine the cause depending on how long you see some of these signs.
Hope this helps!
Karla
