The waves last week were unbelievable. I tried to take a few pictures, they don't really show how high they were, some had to be at least 12 feet!

Hi Teri,
It was great to meet you last week.

Carol - Hope you're okay!
I saw a few photos of the waves on the Bucuti cam and they were HUGE!
Teri - any way that you can make your photos a little smaller....I want to take in the whole photo and it's hard to see when I have to scroll (and yes, I would like a little cheese with that w(h)ine!)

I like waves , but I think I'm among the minority , especially when it comes to Aruba.
Anyway.... most "photo studios" ie, softwares that come with your digital camera or a service by your ISP, even the basic Adobe will offer an option "would you like to reduce these photos for e-mailing?" or some similar terminology. Try selecting that option. This will not have any effect on any kind of photo print processing, but, instead, will provide you with a proper size digital image for sharing via digital photo transfers such as e-mailing and posting on sites such as this BB .
I had the same problem when I first started with digital until a friend showed me this 'click'. It makes a wonderful difference with no risk .

Sorry, I can't find an option here to make them any smaller!
And lefty, you wouldn't like these waves, they were dirty and yucky.

You'd have to make them smaller on your own computer and then repost them.

This is what the waves did to beautiful Bucuti Beach while we were there... The gentle incline down to the water became a 5-foot drop off - they had to tie the 2 palm trees shown up so they didn't get completely washed away.

There was a drop off like that at the Amsterdam Manor Beach last week.
Lefty, I like waves too, but, it was really rough and there was an undertow. I'm a pretty good swimmer, but I was getting a little scared at times.
Amy, thanks for your concern, I'm OK, just a little scrapped up a bit. But you know it had to be bad for me to be at the beach only 3 times in ten days.

WOW...it's so sad to see even more erosion. Seems like a rerun of this past January.
We saw HUGE waves back in January 2002, but certainly not destructive as these are. The waves would slap us around. Hubby lost his sunglasses when he got slammed.
For comparison, I'm attaching a photo I took a couple weeks ago of the same 2 trees, just from a different angle. Just incredible
