There were no violins or warning bells... no sense that my little life was about to change. But we never know, do we? Life turns on a dime. ~Stephen King _________________

I don't mind going back to daylight saving time. With inflation, the hour will be the only thing I've saved all year.

In a democracy, dissent is an act of faith. Like medicine, the test of its value is not in it's taste, but in its effects.
-- J. William Fulbright (1905 - 1995)
Fulbright was a United States Senator representing Arkansas (1945-1974). His efforts to establish an international exchange program resulted in the creation of a fellowship program named for him, the Fulbright Program. _________________ Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be - Grandma Moses (1860 - 1961) |

I like to walk, touch living Mother Earth — bare feet best, and thrill every step. Used to envy happy reptiles that had advantage of so much body in contact with earth, bosom to bosom. We live with our heels as well as head and most of our pleasure comes in that way. ~John Muir _________________

We often hear of bad weather, but in reality, no weather is bad. It is all delightful, though in different ways. Some weather may be bad for farmers or crops, but for man all kinds are good. Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating. As Ruskin says, "There is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather." ~John Lubbock _________________

"Every hand that we don't shake must become a phone call that we place."
"Every embrace that we avoid must become a verbal expression of warmth and concern."
"Every inch and every foot that we physically place between ourselves and another, must become a thought as to how we might be of help to that other, should the need arise."
-- Rabbi Yosef Kanefsky, B'nai David congregation, Los Angeles.
