The older generation thought nothing of getting up at 5 o’clock in the morning — and the younger generation doesn’t think so much of it either. ~Author unknown, c.1944 _________________

“Love is not patronizing and charity isn't about pity, it is about love. Charity and love are the same -- with charity you give love, so don't just give money but reach out your hand instead.”
― Mother Teresa (Mary Teresa Bojaxhiu [born 1910, died 1997] honored in the Catholic Church as Saint Teresa of Calcutta, was an Albanian-Indian Catholic nun and missionary.) _________________ Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be - Grandma Moses (1860 - 1961) |

Genius is the decay of Wisdom. To Shakespeare, Wisdom was offered; but he did not accept it, and so he died away into Genius. ~Jones Very _________________

“How many slams in an old screen door? Depends how loud you shut it. How many slices in a bread? Depends how thin you cut it. How much good inside a day? Depends how good you live 'em. How much love inside a friend? Depends how much you give 'em.”
― Shel Silverstein
He was an American writer known for his cartoons, songs, and children's books. He was the recipient of two Grammy Awards. He is known as author of "The Giving Tree", born 1930, died 1999. _________________ Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be - Grandma Moses (1860 - 1961) |

Set your sight towards the future, and don’t stop until you’re dead.
That might be sooner than you think.
So don’t forget to enjoy the process of getting there (which is the ultimate prize).

Let America be America again.
Let it be the dream it used to be.
Let it be the pioneer on the plain
Seeking a home where he himself is free.
(America never was America to me.)
Let America be the dream the dreamers dreamed.
Let it be that great strong land of love
Where never kings connive nor tyrants scheme
That any man be crushed by one above.
(It never was America to me.)
First 2 stanzas from "Let America Be America Again". It is a poem written in 1935 by American poet Langston Hughes. The poem speaks of the American dream that never existed for the lower-class American and the freedom and equality that every immigrant hoped for but never achieved.
Langston Hughes was born 1902, died 1967. _________________ Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be - Grandma Moses (1860 - 1961) |

“I make a point to appreciate all the little things in my life. I go out and smell the air after a good, hard rain. I re-read passages from my favorite books. I hold the little treasures that somebody special gave me. These small actions help remind me that there are so many great, glorious pieces of good in the world.”
― Dolly Parton, Dream More
Dolly is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, actress, author, businesswoman, and humanitarian, known primarily for her work in country music, born 1946. _________________ Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be - Grandma Moses (1860 - 1961) |
