We're heading back to Aruba after 3 years this coming September, renting a house on a beach in Mangel Halto area as we love Savaneta - hitting up Zeerovers frequently... wondering if Old Man and the Sea is still opened, I've read mixed things online.
Also wondering about local pubs in the area, so that we would not have to go up to or past Oranjestad. We've only stayed there once, usually preferring the low rise area (ABC and Manchebo), but this time we're bringing 7 other friends with us, and so now I'm curious if there are places we can go that'd be closer to where we're staying so I won't feel like I'm herding cats.
Also am wondering if there is a spot in the vicinity or even in San Nicholas to catch NFL games on Sundays.

Thanks and it's good to be back here Smile

I don't hear alot about Old Man & The Sea anymore but their website still works. I would contact them via their website and ask.

I don't know the names of any specific places but we've visited many "rum shops" (i.e. local pubs) in the area over the years. I think your best bet is to just drive around and if you see a rum shop, stop in. Wink

Other places not too far away:
Young Fellows Bar & Restaurant
G&G Pizza (you need to bring your own beer/wine/liquor)
Marina Pirata
La Granja

Playa del Carmen, MX - March 2017
