We went to Quinta del Carmen (new restaurant) in January and really liked it!
Also, Truffles just opened. Looking forward to trying it in Sept. when we're back again. _________________ ~Amy~®

Thank you all, we are super excited to be going back. We will trying a different hotel this time as we usually stay at the Bucuti. A friend gifted us a week at Paradise Villa's timeshare. Its next to Amsterdam Manor from what I can tell. Amy are u familiar by chance? |

I've never stayed there but I am familiar with it. It's next to LaCabana and on the other side of LaCabana is Amsterdam Manor. You will have a nice quiet beach area in front of Paradise Beach Villas. _________________ ~Amy~®

I've stayed there, and would not hesitate to stay again. The units are a little bit out of date, but they are very clean. The staff is very accomodating and the resort is kept very nice. We enjoyed the pool and the water aerobics in the mornings.
When we were there, we stayed in the 3BR Penthouse overlooking the beach. We had a very large patio, with our own BBQ grill. We enjoyed many cocktails on that patio.
You will have a great time there!

Thank you Carol, Amy et all.
We usually stay at the Bucuti (past 6 visits) But our friend is willing to gift us a week anytime for their price which is super low compared to what we would pay for a week at the Bucuti, So if we like the place, then We could find ourselves in Aruba more frequently! |

Back to the real world here lol. Its almost like we go into a post trip funk when we get back from Aruba! ha ha.
Aruba once again did not disappoint - We spent the first 7 days at the Paradise Villa's with a ocean front view on the second floor & we enjoyed our stay there. The rooms were good, considering we always stay at the Bucuti. It had what we needed to enjoy time in and out of the room. The last 2 days we stayed at the Bucuti and it didnt either, however for future trips, we will most likely come back to PV because for the price, it will allow more frequent trips.
Post trip comments and observations -
For the first time in 6 trips, we finally rented a car & will continue to do so on future trips. It made everything easier to do without a bunch a cab fairs. Now that we have the ability to cook our own meals at PV, trips to the grocery store were easier.
Paradise Villas - the beach front there was awesome compared to the beach front in back of the Bucuti and Manchebo. We rented a jet ski one day and rode down by their beach and I couldnt believe the distance mother nature put between their palapas and beach bar. When we checked in, it was about 70 yards from our palapa to get in the water! lol
Internet - while on vacation, we still do business virtually, so the bucuti's internet access was flawless each time we stayed there. Not so at PV, we paid for a week of Aruba wireless access and it was terrible. We had to sit in the reception area to use PV's access. Next trip we will be looking for better more reliable options while there - if anyone has any better let us know.
Our boring daily looked pretty much like breakfast on our deck, beach till 4, nap, dinner, happy hour somewhere in the highrise, back to the room for fun/rest, wake up again the next day and repeat |

Sounds like a great trip!
We also get a rental car (and have a kitchen at Amsterdam Manor) so we make a few grocery store runs here and there. We like being able to make breakfast in our room and sit outside on the balcony with our breakfast, coffee, etc. and not have to go anywhere.
We can get pretty good (free) Wifi service at Amsterdam Manor in the room and on our balcony so I've never looked for internet service on the island. But maybe someone on the board will have some ideas that you can look into. _________________ ~Amy~®
