Glenn - It's kinda weird but I really haven't seen any iguanas around on this trip.

Susan - should be about $22

Lazy day on the beach today. Going to have a little bubbly on the terrace with a friend at 6:30pm and then try to hit two (yes, two!) restaurants tonight - Amadeus and Screaming Eagle.

Hi Amy,

Hope you had a wonderful, sunny beach day today and that you spent your last full day in Aruba just enjoying the place.

Have a safe and uneventful trip home.

Cheers,

Glenn

Let's see....on Sunday I have a glass of bubbly with a friend at sunset and then off to Amdeus for a small bite to eat. I was planning on hitting Screaming Eagle later in the evening but got so wrapped up in conversation with friends Thomas and Marc at Amadeus that I never left. Then a nightcap at 080 and to sleep way too late.

Yesterday morning I had made plans to have coffee with Hector from Payless Car Rental. When he picked me up at 9am it ws POURING out. After making a run for it to the car and sloshing through puddles, we ended up at the coffee bar at the Marriott. Perfect morning for a cup of coffee with a good friend. By the time I got back to the hotel it had stopped raining and the sun was back. Spent the rest of the day at the beach just relaxing with a Bright and a book.

Bulletin board party was last night - met some new friends and saw some old friends. Some of us ordered a glass of champagne and had a toast to Gary (Eagle Beach Boy) since that was his favorite beverage.

Then off to Manchebo...haven't been there in awhile and they really have spruced up the joint. Looks nice. Had dinner poolside at Ike's Bistro. Loved the new menu and the food was delicious (had the scallop appetizer and the ahi tuna.) This will be on our list on our next trip.

Early morniing for me. Couldn't sleep. Think I was worried about finding an open gas station to fill up the car since this is Queen's Day and alot of places are closed today. I drove to the Valero near Bingo - nope, closed. Then I drove to the Texaco near the roundabout - they were open! YEAH! They are pre-pay and self serve which I've never done here before but all went smoothly. The girl inside even let me pump the gas first because I had no idea how much to prepay. My guess was $30 and the total was $28 so I was pretty close.

It sprinkled a little on the way back to the hotel (one dark cloud) and I saw a rainbow. Clearing up now so off to the beach for a last walk and last mimosa in hand.

Happy Queen's Day, Aruba!

(Got my first class upgrade on Delta again. Cool )

Hey, would you mind asking that bird and ice cream truck to move along before December Laughing Wink

Though we are usually awake fairly early in Aruba, dd would NOT be able to avoid the temptation of an ice cream truck, though she will already have access to all the delicious desserts at the AMBR. For her sake, I hope they have taken the Brownie Bites off the menu! Cool Laughing

I hope those glasses of champagne are included on the AIP Wink Very Happy

Have a safe trip home and wave as you fly over my house. Actually the flight path is usually about 15 miles east of here over the lake, but I might be able to hear you anyway.
Laughing

Flights were good and all on time yesterday via Delta. I tried an earlier connection from ATL-MSP this time which was supposed to arrive MSP at 10:30pm but we got in early, got my bag right away, Mike picked me up and I was home by 10:20pm.

No problems at the Aruba Airport either but I think it helped that I was flying on a Tuesday. The car rental company dropped me off at the airport at 12:20pm (my flight was at 3pm) and I was at the gate by 1:10pm. Everything moved smoothly.

I had time to spare so I wandered around the gates looking at last minute trinkets. As I walked by a place that sold sandwiches to go, I noticed a sign by the foil wrapped hot sandwiches that said "You open it, you buy it". Seemed odd to me at the time but then when I was walking by again, here is this woman unwrapping the sandwich and lifting open the bun to see what kind of sandwich it is. Apparently she couldn't read the sign that was inches from her fingers about not opening the sandwich or the sign right in front that said the type of sandwich. Of course, she didn't buy it and wrapped it back up (the girl who worked there didn't see her do this). I just cannot believe how people behave somtimes!!!

Anyway, I am home after a lovely trip filled with sunny days and sunny smiles from everyone. Cool But I missed my husband soooo much so I'm happy to be home and looking forward to the next adventure! Smile

Hi Amy and friends,

Welcome home Amy. Glad to hear all your return flights were on time and that you're back after a wonderfully relaxing holiday.

Who's next? If you mean to Aruba, I couldn't tell you, but if you mean anywhere; well, that would be us.

7:00 am this Friday we leave for Maui. Winnipeg to Vancouver, then on to Maui. We're there till May 30. Very much looking forward to it. No laptop, no cellphone, so I'll be back here on the bb in a month.

Then, we look forward to Aruba, October 12-19, 2013. Carol, Sasha, I'm looking forward to seeing you both.

Bye for now,

Glenn
