Be careful if you want to book through their website. We did once and never recieved an answer. You better book while being on Aruba. Do it through your hotel.

If one has to choose between:

  • Snorkeling (Party BoatType)
  • Just Snorkeling
  • Underwater Treking
  • SNUBA

What choice is the best? I love them all.

Are you thinking about spending the day on DePalm Island? I haven't been there in awhile but always loved the big blue parrot fish that you see when snorkeling.

Of the ones that you mentioned....
Snorkeling (Party BoatType)
Just Snorkeling
Underwater Treking
SNUBA

Not sure which I would choose....probably one of the snorkeling tours.

We have enjoyed our times at DePalm Island very much! Great snorkeling, good food, free drinks, hammocks, and I even went down a few tunnels at the water park!

De Palm island is fun. I actually enjoyed the water park and I am in my 40's. The food is mediocre. The snorkeling was pretty good...you see tons of the parrot fish. If it were me, going on my first trip, I would take one of the sailing snorkel trips...I highly recommend the Tranquilo. It is a great experience. We took a friend who had only snorkeled once and she did very well. They take you to one spot where it is shallow enough to stand (get accustomed to it) then you can go on a drift snorkel out deeper with a small dinghy to bring you back to the sail boat. Great experience overall. I have done the Octopus as well, good but does not take you to the better snorkel spots that the Tranquilo takes you too.
Just my 2 cents.

Wow, I might do both. It sounds exciting.

Will I get Sea Sick on the sailing ship? When it's moving I'm OK, it's when it is just rocking that I don't like. (I get weezy on a merry-go-round rid.) When I'm in the water, I'm OK.

The patch works, but I don't know if the water from snorkeling would ruin it.

The waters around Aruba are mostly calm. So no worries about getting seasick. If it gets rocky, Anthony - the owner of the Tranquilo, will not sail. This though only happen if there is a hurricane close and that doesn't happen very often. I would say: do the Tranquilo. It is a great trip!

Dennis: This is a single hull sail boat...not sure the length, but I don't get seasick...my husband always takes dramamine prior to going out as once you feel seasick...it is already too late! Can't hurt to take it ahead of time, just have your wife drive you home or walk...as a few drinks with that will put you ready for a nap. The sailing is also a great way to see more of the island, you get to see all the resorts from the water side....very cool view. I would take the Tranquilo and enjoy the day...you can't go wrong with them.

Carolina, the Tranquilo is now docking at Oranjestad. So unfortunately you don't get to see the resorts any more....

My wife and I have been on the Tranquilo many times over the 13 years and love it! Anthony and his crew always make sure that everyone is enjoying themselves. The sail out and back is smooth and the snokeling in shallow and the drift (deep) is fantastic! The bar is open after your done in the water and the food is great! This is a trip where money is well spent!
Also, check out ABC tours, they have excellent island tours.
