|
|
I just read a recent review on Trip Advisor for the Amsterdam Manor as I'm counting the seconds down to our trip next month and had a mild concern based on what I read.
I read that this recent guest found trouble (and mentioned others were less than pleased) with adequate palapa space & float rentals in the mornings due to cruise ship guests paying Amsterdam Manor to use their beach while in dock. Has anyone that has stayed at AMBR recently encountered this? Naturally, if it is occurring, the time of year plays heavily, but I'm kind of with the reviewer in their sentiments on paying for a stay at AMBR that includes the fabulous beach and amenities associated with it.
This reviewer was mostly able to avoid the issue as they were early risers and didn't have issue with securing a palapa, but I don't want to have to get up at 8am to land a palapa when I'm on vacation and not an early riser.
Thanks! _________________

I just stayed at AMBR last week for 9 nights (April 22-May 1) and didn't encounter any issues/problems that were mentioned in the Trip Advisor review. _________________ ~Amy~®

Figured I'd get a response from you Amy, thanks!
I looked at the cruise ship schedule for Aruba in June and it looks like only one ship is coming into port during the week we're there, no biggie whatsoever.
I more thought the observation made by the reviewer was odd compared to the sense I'd gotten from our previous stay at AMBR where they liked to keep the exclusivity of the amenities available to guests only.
I can taste the Brights! _________________

In the high season we encountered this situation. Especially when there were 2-3 ships in a day. They charge $10 per chair. Palapas are free because of "Public Beach".
The AM makes LOTS of money off of the Bar.
And yes... Guests that do not get to the beach by 10:00 am are out of luck. |

The cruise people spill over to LaCabana too. Is it the watersports guy in the middle on the beach who rents these chairs??
EBB is correct, unfortunately the beach is publically owned, even though the resorts are not! _________________ Christmas 2015 at Disney World!

At the AM the watersports people do have some chairs to rent. (these are not in the best of condition.)
Also the AM's Beach-boys rent out the Hotels chairs for the Hotel. |

Thanks for the responses....I had looked at a cruise ship schedule and only one is scheduled to dock the entire week we are there, so no sweat there. Counting down the days...... _________________
