As you know the days are very short now. Going out to dinner last night around 6:30 five donkeys were walking on the side of the road in the dark in Seroe Colorado. If this is the same group of donkeys in the area (two or three I don't remember) they have multiplied. In the group there is a baby no more than a few weeks old walking in the midle. Another youngster was walking ahead of it. _________________ 81st trip November 15-21, 2020 |

Driving out of the refinery to lunch today, the pack was grazing on the road side in Seroe Cororado. A bunch of tourists were taking pictures of them. I was a little uneasy because I didn't see the baby. But I was driving I thought it may have been hidden behind a bush.
Late afternoon after work I went out to do my 5 miles I saw them again, right in the middle of the two lane road the sporadic car traffic had to make way. Yep. There were only four. The baby was nowhere to be seen. I fear the worst may have happened but I hope I was wrong not knowing the traveling habit of donkeys. _________________ 81st trip November 15-21, 2020 |

The last post of the sighting was Nov. 10, 2010. Coming back to the island three months later this Monday I saw the pack again on the road side in Seroe Colorado yesterday. Only three are left in the pack. Two I presume are the young couple and a colt. I hope the lone, fourth donkey I spotted in Nov., 2010 found greener pasture and left the pack. _________________ 81st trip November 15-21, 2020 |

I do, too...perhaps he is now with the donkey sanctuary enjoying regular meals and carrots every day. _________________ ~Amy~®

Almost two weeks on the island today I saw the pack for the first time in this trip, grazing in the grass in Seroe Colorado. Only three are left. And the baby has grown. Probably very used to the tourists feeding them snacks they all came by the open window begging.

Great pictures!
Goats AND donkeys were there in the area between the "anchor" and the "prison" last September. Our friend got a pictures of the goats, but we did not have a camera on the day that goats and donkeys were observed. |

If you enjoy the donkeys you really need to make a trip to the Donkey Sanctuary. It is such a great experience. Last September on our trip there a baby had just been born durning the night, so we were the first visitors to get to see it. Really made it a special trip!! |

The last sightting of the pack roaming in Seroe Colorado was Feb. 26. Since then I made two more trips to Aruba in between. One in March and another in April. Yesterday I saw them again for the first time in two months while doing my 5 miles in the afternoon. They are full grown now. One still has the noose loose on the neck. _________________ 81st trip November 15-21, 2020 |

We were in that area on Monday and saw the 3 window beggars. LOL!! The one with the rope around his neck is still there as well. Friendly little guys.
Saw a ton of goats as we drove along the water toward the windmills. Had to have been at least 5 herds with 50-75 goats per herd. They are loving all of the greenery to eat. Lots of little babies, too. _________________ ~Amy~®

Is there a reason why Desiree and the volunteers from the donkey sanctuary cannot bring them in? _________________ www.arubabound.com ~ www.hoosierkitties.com

I am here almost four weeks today is the first time I saw any donkey. The pack of three has apparently broken up and gone separate ways. There is only one left in Seroe Colorado. He was standing next to the coconut stand to the right of the big red anchor. _________________ 81st trip November 15-21, 2020 |
