Outstanding Hotel

The staff was very accomodating in every way from recommending excellent restaurants to getting us a poolside chair with an umbrella. We had breakfast and lunch each day at Palms and the food and service were excellent.
We all loved the slide at the pool and the ocean was great too.
Housekeeping quickly and efficiently cleaned up our room when one of our girls became ill at night.
Everything about the resort was top shelf.

Bed Bugs
- by
August 22, 2011

Beware! After staying a few nights at the hotel I noticed I had a lot of bites that occurred in lines and clusters. Fearing that they were bed bug bites we looked under the bed and saw a few very small brown bugs scurry under the bed. I was absolutely disgusted! We immediately contacted hotel management. The manager was not accommodating at all. He told us that the hotel does not have bed bugs and that my bites must be from the "sun or something." We were also told that we must have seen a mosquito or something when looking under the bed.
After insisting that I would not stay in that room another night, the manager had his "specialists" check the room (this was at 11:00 PM). After five minutes he told us our room was fine to return to. Long story short...we had to almost beg to get our room changed and our clothes washed. We hoped that the daytime manager would be more accommodating but she also insisted that they "don't have those problems". I understand that hotels have these problems sometimes and don't want publicize it. However, they should be able to identify the problem, resolve the problem and execute more customer service when issues such as this arise. Plus, it's disgusting!
Unfortunately, this ruined the vacation for us.

Hyatt Vacation

Great Location on the Palm Beach Stretch of Beach. Hotel was great, but they charge you for beach umbrella's and you have to reserve them as soon as you arrive or you will be away from the beach. The beach towels are fair and the pool is small. The beach was outstanding.

You also can not get fresh fruit daquri's. Food was ok, better restaurants are in the area.

Hotel was very clean and service was superb.

My wife and I stayed at the Hyatt as we celebrated our 25th anniversary. This was the best vacation I can remember taking. Our vacation started as we were greeted at the front desk with glasses of champagne. All of the staff, from front desk personnel to the concierge to the beach help to the waiters and waitresses were great. Their attitude was very positive, not a surly one in the bunch. They definitely exceeded our expectations.
The food in the restaurants was excellent. The waiters spent time talking with us and making us feel very comfortable.
We went during low season (June) which meant there was no waiting anywhere. Even the casino at the hotel was very good. Can't guarantee whether you will win or lose, but the experience was wonderful.
Oh - don't forget to have fun on the water slide by the pool.

We spent our Honeymoon at this hotel in 1997 and visited again in 2002! We just booked our 10 year anniversary June 2007 and can't wait to see what the new remodel will look like. We love the service, the bars, the spa, the restaurants, the black swans and of course the pool! Everything is amazing at this resort! We have also stayed at another big name resort and there is just no comparison. You just can't beat the Hyatt experience! Can't wait until June!

My wife and I originally had reservations at the Marriott Stellaris casino. We checked in, and after two day's we decided that this so called 5 star resort was really a 3 star ( at best) in disguise. We left the Marriott and decided to stay at the Hyatt. It was the best decision we could have made. The hotel was beautiful with their exotic birds, and great pool, and restaurants. We didn't have to wait in line at 7:00 a.m. to get a free seat at the beach as we did at the Marriott, and the staff was truly professional, and helpful. This hotel is without a doubt the best on the island, and we are already booked for ten nights there next month again. This is truly a 5 star resort. Spend the extra money, and treat yourself, it's well worth it.

Third July in a row for the Hyatt....Outstanding service and staff. We were actually solicited for restaurants and time shares on the beach for the first time! Quite a surprise. The stay lived up to our expectations and more. I think this is becoming an annual event...YAY!

We lay on the beach 2 days, eat at restaurants. Been going to Aruba since 1985. We will return Mike & Barb Mattiace
