Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort, July 5 - 14, 2002
By Eddie & Kelly

We stayed at the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort to celebrate our 3rd anniversary during the week of July 5-14, 2002. Our travel agent recommended the resort and guaranteed us it would be a perfect fit for our vacation desires. The resort is conveniently located near the airport, Oranjestad, and several attractions on the island. When we checked in on July 5th, the first thing we noticed was the warm reception we received from the staff. They were friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. The staff kindly provided us with information about the resort including all its amenities and services. The resort offers an on-site restaurant, pool, upper deck bar with happy hour, mini mart, laundry service, and unlimited Internet access free of charge. Our studio was spacious and spotless and even had an ocean view!

The balcony was an excellent venue for breakfast and our daily afternoon snack of wine and cheese. The mini mart is an excellent amenity! We could get postcards, the daily news, and groceries without leaving our resort.

Amsterdam Manor is located on Eagle beach, which is a perfect place to relax. It is both quiet and family friendly. The white sand beaches and clear blue waters stretch for miles. Parasols, lounge chairs, a snack bar and various water sport activities are available. It was so convenient to be able to walk out of your room and down to the beach in a manner of minutes. When we decided to explore the island, the staff at the Amsterdam Manor assisted us with renting a car and locating interesting attractions. Throughout our stay they were also able to recommend snorkeling sites, rent us the necessary equipment, assist with booking a horseback riding trip, and choosing restaurants. They were both friendly and informative and allowed us to make all the final decisions about our activities. We snorkeled at several different beaches, explored the island by car, and visited the caves, the natural bridge, the ruins, the California Lighthouse, and Alto Vista.

The Amsterdam Manor provides tourists with all the necessities for a safe, enjoyable, and relaxing vacation. The staff’s personal touch made us feel very comfortable and left us with a very positive impression of resort itself as well as Aruba!

Aruba and the Amsterdam Manor Resort are unique in many ways, definitely a place we plan to visit again. Aruba and the Amsterdam manor Resort truly represent Caribbean hospitality.
