| Has anyone had recent issues with customs at the airport? I am hearing a lot about people being stopped and searched and then having to pay the tax to bring something they brought with them outside the airport. Some one just said their dive bag was taken until they pay 6% of the contents value. This seems a little drastic. How bad is it? |

When we were there in October they were checking everybody thoroughly, I thought mostly for more alcohol than was allowed. People were getting pulled over to pay the extra duty.

| I was hoping that it was not as bad as I was hearing, but that sounds like not to be the case. Is it really the best time to burn visitors coming to your island? People are saying they questioned jewelry, cameras and anything you have 2 of. Asking to see purchase receipts. Who has or carries a receipt for something you have owned for years? Nothing more than a money grab IMO. |
