Good morning everyone,

We leave for Maui tomorrow. We'll be there for four weeks. Greatly looking forward to it.

No cell phone, no computer; I call it " life detached". Everyone should try it, at least for a little.

I hope everyone has a wonderful month of May. For all the mums here on the bb, and I know it's well in advance, Happy Mothers Day.

Have a great visit, Glenn! Maybe you can get over to the big island to get a view of Kilauea! I understand there's a new lava pool in the caldera!!

We visited Hawaii more than a few years back and cruised on the old Hawaiian American Line which has since gone bottoms up. Literally, both their ships sunk! Two old ships, the Independence and the Constitution both built right after WWII with American crews to avoid the problems with the Jones Act which allowed them to cruise the Islands without touching at a foreign port.

We visited four islands: Kauai, Maui Oahu and the big island and saw all the sights! FYI, NCL has a ship based in Honolulu U.S. registered to avoid
Jones! Not my favorite line but adequate. If you're only going once, I think it's the best way to see Hawaii. Unpack once and no flying between islands.

I really think the idea of vacation as "life detached" matches my expectations. No phone calls, no medical appointments etc.

We were "detached" recently...cruise across the Atlantic.

Aruba detachment scheduled for September 12!
