I'm still stalking JB airfare from JFK for early February. Usually I have my ticket by now but the fares for the flights I've always taken are through the roof!! Hoping they drop soon...

New bit of news about the fuel prices being paid by the airlines. It seems as though they buy futures to lock in prices. unfortunately, most of them are locked in to the old prices, some of them up to as late as June! Looks stupid now but probably not at the time!!

Just a head's up, in case people don't know already, my fare finally dropped nearly $100, so I emailed to request the credit for my TravelBank. Apparently back in August, their policy changed. Now, if you request a credit more than 14 days after you have booked your flight, they charge you a $75 "Honor Lower Fare" fee. Yup, $75. So the credit I received wasn't even really worth the time to type the email. They continue to disappoint this loyal customer!

It seems as though the whole travel industry is jumping on this added fee thing. Last Sunday paper''s travel section had an article about it. It seems that a Cayman Islands' resort wanted a $150 fee for reserving two adjoining rooms citing problems with reservation, stay overs, etc. it listed some further charges winding up with a proposed 5% surcharge by taxicabs for for using credit cards. I maybe mistaken but I thought you couldn't be charged a fee for using one but could be offered a discount for cash!! Figure that one out!!

For the first time after being a loyal JetBlue customer for 12 years I booked two separate flights NOT on JetBlue. In the past I never considered anyone else but now with all their changes I looked elsewhere and found better fare.

Ditto! I booked my Aruba trip on United for this October. They were much cheaper than JB.
