Hi Folks,
Great board you have here - very helpful! Iâ??ll be visiting Aruba for the first time in March and was hoping to benefit from your expertise. Any guidance you may have on the following questions would be greatly appreciated!

1. Where is the best place on Palm Beach to rent chairs/umbrellas for a day - Moombaâ??s or the vendor between the Riu and Radisson? Does one have a better section of beach or is less crowded than the other? Do we need to be there by a certain hour to be guaranteed the option of shade (either an umbrella or a palapa)?

2. How early do we need to get to Baby Beach on a weekday to get a palapa (Iâ??m not sure I like the look of those umbrella tents, especially at $30+)?

3. Is there a place to rent chairs/umbrellas on Manchebo Beach/Punta Brabo? I saw the 'Pirate Beach Rental Shack' mentioned somewhere (if so and thatâ??s the best option, where is it located?).

4. How early do we need to get to Eagle Beach on a weekend to rent chairs and an umbrella (or a palapa) in front of Paradise Beach/Chalet Suisse/MVC?

5. 4. How early do we need to get to Arashi on a weekend to get a palapa?

Thank you, in advance!

I think at most places you should probably get there no later than 10am. Sometimes it also depends on if there are alot of cruise ships in port, too.

Location for rental on Palm Beach is just a matter of personal preference. One will have Moomba Beach Bar at your fingertips and the other will have the Bugaloe (but the Bugaloe is on a pier so it will be close but not at your fingertips.) Wink

Since you're planning on Arashi on the weekend, I would get there by 9am since alot of locals go there on the weekend and it could be pretty busy.

Thanks for the quick responses, Amy! Three follow-ups:

Re: Palm Beach, I'll be happy to have either Moomba or Bugaloe close by (and plan to visit both, anyway), so that's a draw. To tip the scales, my personal preferences would be: does either one have a better stretch of beach, or is likely to be less-crowded, or have more comfortable chairs for rent, or have better access to shade (umbrella or palapa)?

Re: Arashi being busy with locals on a Sun., if I prefer a beach to be as least-crowded as possible, would it make sense to change my schedule and visit Manchebo on Sun. and Arashi on a Mon.?

Re: Manchebo, is there a place to rent chairs and an umbrella (or palapa) there?

Thanks again!

I don't think you can rent at a Paradise Beach. Also remember it can get very hot without a hut!

Not at Paradise Beach Villas but their is a vendor who rents chairs between PBV and Chalet Suisse.

The beach near the Radisson is better in my opinion. Both will have umbrellas (not palapas). Which one is more busy could really just depend on the day.

I would do Arashi on a Monday. It will be less crowded.

I don't think there is any place to rent chairs near Manchebo but you could check with Manchebo resort to see if they rent to non-guests (they used to in the past but not sure if they still do anymore.)
