Last year when I went to Aruba there was a 2 liter limit per person on spirits and wine that you could bring into Aruba. Much to my dismay it has been changed to 1 liter per person, and they are enforcing it. The duty is $13.00 per liter, and they are opening bags and checking when you are in Aruba customs. Aruba customs is the check point you encounter after retrieving your luggage on the way into the country.

Thanks for the update! This means though that I can still buy one bottle of champagne in duty free with no charge, correct?

You can buy more, just have to declare it and pay the duty.

When I click customs-regulations inadmissable items, nothing comes up. Trying to find out what we can bring in with us. Allowable foods/liquor.

For some reason I thought the allowance as more generous for wine. I guess I'm wrong, but, that's one liter per person so a couple can bring in two liters!

This is something new. It used to be routine going through Aruban customs. Just a friendly wave! I've been asked but never had my luggage opened... so far!
