We are 1 week away from our annual Aruba vacation. Scan and email to yourself your passport ID page. If it got lost or stolen it will made it easier to replace on short notice. Hope you never need to experience it.

Don't know if it would ever help, but we have been taking a color photocopy of passport page (kept elsewhere in our belongings).
Your suggestion of an e-mail scan also makes sense. Have you ever had a problem? So far, we have not!

Fortunately we never had to deal with a document problem and since my wife is better organized she handles that. I survivied without incident when I traveled alone. Pre 9/11 we traveled on a birth certificate to Aruba. I suppose there are worse places to be stuck also. Maybe I can get hired by customs or immigation and get stationed there.
