Aruba Coronavirus update 6/26/21:

For all tourists entering Aruba you still have to be tested for Covid and purchase insurance even if you were vaccinated. When this changes you will find it reported right here. For U.S. tourists this also still applies when exiting the island as well.
The number of active cases on the island is at 33 (25 residents and eight non-residents).
As of this past Tuesday, 67,000 Aruba locals had been vaccinated which is approximately 67 percent of Aruba’s adult population.
All restrictions listed below are in effect and must be followed. Everything should be further reviewed soon:
•Masks are not mandated but they are recommended when 1.5 meter social distancing is not possible. Establishments however, including supermarkets or any stores, restaurants, etc. are allowed to require people to wear masks to enter and this must be followed if it applies. Social distancing still must be practiced.
•Live music is permitted with no maximum number of musicians but no dancing.
•Locals who have been vaccinated are no longer required to quarantine for two weeks with contact tracing if they had been in contact with a person who tested positive.
•All restaurants and establishments are required to close by 11:00pm. This does not include establishments on hotel properties such as restaurants. As always please check with your hotel for information on their specific closing times.
•All casinos must close by 1:00am.
•Restaurants have a maximum of eight adults seated together inside and 10 outside. Children under 12 do not count towards the maximum numbers.
•Alcohol is not allowed in any public places including beaches, parks, parking lots, etc. unless it is being consumed at a licensed establishment. Hotel guests can order alcoholic beverages on the beach as long as they stay on the hotel property, and can bring their beverages to their palapa or beach chair as long as they order from the hotel bar. Alcoholic beverages can still be enjoyed at beach bars or restaurants not affiliated with a hotel, as long as patrons stay within the grounds of the establishment.
•Funerals can now have a maximum of 60
people.
•Beach weddings are allowed to happen but no dancing is allowed and Covid protocols must be followed.
Please be sure not to spread misinformation or repeat rumors in this group. Only respond to a question in this group if you are positive you know the answer. Never begin a sentence with “I heard” or “I think”. If you don’t know the answer to something just hold off from commenting and let someone else answer it. This group is a safe zone for people who love Aruba. We have many new members who have never traveled to Aruba and are looking to ask questions. There are NO POLITICS EVER, no name-calling, no nastiness. Enjoy this group and please always be kind to others. There are no stupid questions ever.
PLEASE read this announcement thoroughly before you ask questions either in this post or to the group. Please also understand that I just report what the government announces and if you don’t see an answer here I probably don’t have it. While these announcements are no longer posted daily, please be assured that any changes to Covid protocols effecting Aruba will be posted immediately as they always have been.
Should you have any important questions that are not found in this announcement please e mail support@aruba.com. Also see Aruba.com or call the support number 1-800-862-7822. For testing questions e mail Quarantine@dvg.aw. I do not have the answers to your questions but they most certainly do. Thank you.
See this website for updated information about testing in Aruba. https://labhoh.org/covid-test/.
Aruba mandatory visitor Covid insurance is for a $30.00 flat fee regardless of how long the length of stay is. For children up to and including the age of 14 there is a flat fee of $10.00. Below is the link for the insurance site which gives you specific information on what the insurance covers.

A reminder and clarification that this mandatory Covid insurance that must be purchased by everyone is only for Covid related illness. Anyone who has to go to the hospital or receive medical treatment on the island for any other reason is expected to pay for their medical services just like always.
A common question is what should a person do if they have tested positive for the virus in their home country weeks before traveling and no longer have symptoms but still might test positive. Here is the official answer from the Aruba government website:
“Due to the fact that COVID-19 can show residual traces many weeks later in those who have tested positive, yet they show no symptoms and are likely not infectious, the Aruban government has implemented a specific policy. Those visitors 15 and older, who have tested positive for COVID-19 between 2 weeks and 12 weeks prior to their travel date to Aruba, and do not show any symptoms, will be exempt from the requirement of providing a negative COVID-19 test result for entry to Aruba.
As part of the mandatory online Embarkation/Disembarkation Card process, these visitors will, however, be required to upload proof of their positive COVID-19 test result taken between 2 and 12 weeks prior to their travel date to Aruba.
Upon arrival, these visitors will also be interviewed by the medical team at the Aruba airport to assess the presence of any symptoms.
Note: This exemption does not apply for anyone who has had a positive COVID-19 test older than 12 weeks”
A number of hotels in Aruba now offer on site and off site testing for their guests before they exit the island. These include Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort, Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, Divi Hotels (2 test centers for the 5 hotels), Hilton, Hyatt Regency, Holiday Inn, La Cabana, Manchebo Beach Resort, Marriott (1 test center for the 3 hotels), Renaissance Aruba Resort, Ritz-Carlton, RIU Palace Aruba and RIU Palace Antillas, Costa Linda, Aruba Beach Club/Casa Del Mar, Playa Linda, and Radisson Blu. Here is the link to the test centers in Aruba if you are not in one of these hotels. aruba.com/returntraveltesting.
Requirements are still in effect for people to be tested before returning to the USA. While a few states like New York have lifted requirements for people re-entering domestically, the requirement of international travelers testing before returning to the country is still very much in place.
Anyone over two years old traveling to the United States from Aruba needs to be tested for Covid three days before traveling with a viral test (NAAT or antigen test) to determine if you are currently infected with COVID-19. If you are not in possession of a negative test from three days before your flight you will not be permitted to board any airplane going to the U.S. The good news, as reported above, is that Aruba tourists can be tested with turnaround time within 24 hours. The landing page with that information is here: aruba.com/returntraveltesting
Here is the CDC article announcing this protocol. https://www.cdc.gov/.../s0112-negative-covid-19-air...
The CDC link with answers to MANY common questions is here: https://www.cdc.gov/.../testing-international-air...
IMPORTANT: Removing seashells, coral, and sand from the beaches in Aruba is ILLEGAL and attempting to bring them home in your luggage will result in major fines and confiscation. This is happening frequently in the last few months so please protect the Aruba environment, your wallet, and do not remove any shells from the beaches. If you truly love the island and its people please keep Aruba beautiful just the way you found it.
The link for the official ED card site is below and this has all the current information and requirements including current testing requirements:

If traveling be sure to download the official Aruba Health App on your phone for important information. This is mandatory if you are being tested upon entry at the Aruba airport.
Please stay safe and healthy everyone!!!
