A year ago, I was still preparing to enjoy Thanksgiving. Alas, I did it in a wheelchair because I broke my hip in Aruba, spent 18 nights in the hospital after a surgical repair. Some of it was waiting to get back to the US.
Hurricane Matthew passed Aruba, caused beach damage, disrupted Oduber hospital schedules, but moved on. Wrecked other parts of the Caribbean and took aim at Florida.
We finally arrive home when Matthew approaches our area and we are advised to evacuate. Me in wheelchair, we head inland for sort of a hurricane party at my brother's home. No damage when we return.

Another hurricane season is mostly done. We survived another session with Irma. We stayed. Dark, scary night...but again, limited power outages, no damage.

I am thankful for all the good things in my life. Especially thankful that I am walking again...no cane around the house, using a cane for short trips outside, still using a rolling walker for longer trips/walks.

So you can see that I'm doing better in 2017. I will help more this year as we host a table of 10 for turkey day tomorrow. Best wishes to all!
