My last round of questions...

1. If I can tear my girlfriend away from the west coast beaches for two hours, are the sights at Boca Prins and/or Dos Playa worthwhile? Do they both need to be seen (if not, which is more scenic)?

2. Do I need to see both the Casabari Rock and Ayo Rock Formations? Or is one sufficient (because they are similar) and, if so, which is the better sight? How much time does one usually spend there, 30-60 minutes?

3. On the drive to Baby Beach, is there any place to stop and snorkel from shore that is worthwhile? Is it possible to get to Mikeā??s Reef? Is Mangel Halto good, or are the currents and boat traffic problematic? If it helps, Iā??ve been snorkeling my whole life, but my girlfriend is newer to the sport (1-2 years). Is the snorkeling passable inside the breakwater at Baby Beach?

4. On the drive to Arashi, where are the best places to snorkel from shore - Malmok, Boca Catalina/Catalina Cove, Arashi?

5. Speaking of driving - Tropic Car Rental is sold out, is Payless my next call? Or is it better to use a rental company with an office at the airport?

Thanks!

Hi Cjay,

I can answer a couple of your questions.

Casibari Rock formations is pretty cool, you can climb to the top and walk on top of the rocks. I think an hour or so is enough time. The grounds are pretty and there is a small gift shop across the street.

I'm not much of a snorkeler, so I'll leave those questions for someone else.

Payless is a good choice for car rental. Just know that any rental company with an office on the airport property will cost you more.

From everything I've read, Mangel Halto is a really good spot to go snorkel. It's still on my Bucket List.
Regarding Baby Beach, you can snorkel inside the breakwater, very appropriate for a beginner snorkeler.

Boca Catalina is a nice spot to snorkel form shore. It's where most of the snorkel boats stop.
To get there head towards the light house. After Malmok there's a left-hand turn to take. Right in front of you is a small beach with a few palapas and parking. If you miss the turn, you only go straight for about another 500 feet when the road take a hard left anyways. At the stop sign take a right to get you back to Boca Catalina. If you turn right you end up at Arashi.

We have been renting from Tropic for 10 years but one year they were booked and we went with Payless. They would always be my second choice. They will pick you up at the airport and shuttle you to their office. Very quick and easy.

Ditto for us as well! Tropic or Payless always gets our business.
