Our experience dates back to 1988.
After a while, I kept a little spreadsheet file of time spent in Aruba.
We started out with 7 nights, progressed to 14 and now 21.
While looking to update my file, I realize that we have spent 372 nights in Aruba...a year of nights, a year of our lives.
(From discussions, I know people who have spent much more!)
(Happy to say, we reached "1 year"!)
(My working career always dealt with numbers. I admit to being number-compulsive, but hope you understand my obsession. All the same, I don't balance the checkbook.) _________________ Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be - Grandma Moses (1860 - 1961) |

WOW, that's an accomplishment John. I'm also a numbers person, so I understand. That averages out to 26.5 visits in 23 years.

A couple years, we did go more than once.
We traded a week of timeshare and wound up going back to Aruba in a different season. _________________ Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be - Grandma Moses (1860 - 1961) |

John - my curiousity got the better of me so I had to count my total number of days. Grand total is 287 days - first trip was in '96.
Started out the first 3 years at 7 days, then went to 14 days, then started doing 2 trips a year and the 14 day trip turned into a 17 day trip - and one 5 day NYE trip thrown in for good measure.
Never realized it added up to so many days. _________________ ~Amy~®

Hi Amy and JohnT,
I echo what Corrine says. Both of you are truly amazing.
I wish there was some formal way your loyalty could be acknowledged by Aruba's authorities. After all, they have been the recipients of thousands of dollars from both of you in hotel taxes and related energy surcharges; departure taxes; taxes and service charges on food and beverages, etc. Just sayin'

Thanks, Glenn!
Last year, we did make a half-hearted attempt to get the 20-year award offered by the tourism authority. Our resorts do a lot of things right, but between the two of us, it just didn't happen. Maybe we'll make an effort in 2012. _________________ Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be - Grandma Moses (1860 - 1961) |
